To view and restore version history in Google Docs, follow these steps:
- Open the Google Docs document you want to view version history for.
- Click on the "File" menu option at the top left corner.
- Select "Version history" from the drop-down menu.
- A sidebar will appear on the right side of the document, showing all the available versions sorted by date and time.
- Click on a specific version to see a preview of the document at that point in time.
- If you want to restore a previous version, select the version you want to restore and click on the "Restore this version" button located at the top of the sidebar.
- A prompt will appear asking you to confirm the restoration. Click on "Restore" to revert to the selected version.
- Your document will now be restored to the selected version.
Note: Google Docs automatically saves versions as you make changes, so you can easily view and restore previous versions whenever needed.
