To underline text in Microsoft Word, you can follow these steps:
- Open Microsoft Word.
- Type or select the text that you want to underline.
- Click on the "Home" tab located at the top of the Word window.
- Locate the Font group in the toolbar.
- Within the Font group, you will find the underline button; it looks like an "U" with a line underneath it. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut "Ctrl+U" to underline the text.
- Select the text you want to underline, or simply place the cursor where you want the underline to start.
- Click on the underline button in the Font group, or use the "Ctrl+U" shortcut.
- The selected text should now be underlined.
You can also customize the underlining style by clicking the small arrow in the underline button, which will open a drop-down menu with various underline options like single, double, thick, dotted, or dashed lines.
