To track changes and suggest edits in Google Docs, follow these steps:
Open the Google Docs document you want to edit.
Go to the top toolbar and click on "Editing" (it is located next to "View" and "Help").
In the "Editing" drop-down menu, select "Suggesting." This mode allows you to make edits that are displayed as suggestions rather than directly changing the text.
Now, you can start making edits to the document. Every change you make will appear in a different color and will be displayed as a suggestion.
To add a comment to a specific part of the document, highlight the text or click at the desired point, then click on the "Comment" button in the toolbar. Type your comment and click "Comment" to add it.
If you want to accept or reject someone else's suggestion or comment, click on it to select it, and then click on the checkmark or the "X" icon that appear next to it.
You can also switch back to "Editing" mode to make direct changes to the document without suggesting edits. Simply click on the "Editing" drop-down menu and select "Editing."
Note: All changes made in the Suggesting mode are saved automatically. However, if you want to keep a record of the document's revision history, you can go to "File" in the top toolbar, select "Version History," and then click on "See Version History."
