How to freeze or lock rows and columns in a Google Sheets worksheet?

To freeze or lock rows and columns in a Google Sheets worksheet, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Google Sheets document.
  2. Select the row(s) or column(s) you want to freeze. To freeze rows, click on the row number(s) on the left side of the sheet. To freeze columns, click on the column letter(s) at the top of the sheet.
  3. Click on the "View" tab in the main menu.
  4. From the drop-down menu, hover over "Freeze" and select either "1 row", "2 rows", "1 column", or "2 columns" depending on your preference. Alternatively, you can select "Up to current row" or "Up to current column" to freeze everything above the selected row(s) or column(s).
  5. The selected rows or columns will now be frozen, and you will see a thin gray line indicating the freeze line.

To remove the freeze or lock, simply click on "View" in the main menu, hover over "Freeze", and select "No rows" or "No columns" depending on what you want to unfreeze.
