How to add footnotes and endnotes in Microsoft Word?

To add footnotes or endnotes in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:

Footnotes:

  1. Place your cursor in the text where you want to insert the footnote.
  2. Go to the "References" tab in the toolbar.
  3. Click on the "Insert Footnote" button.
  4. A number or symbol will be inserted at the cursor position and a corresponding footnote section will appear at the bottom of the page.
  5. Type the content of your footnote in the footnote section.

Endnotes:

  1. Place your cursor in the text where you want to insert the endnote.
  2. Go to the "References" tab in the toolbar.
  3. Click on the "Insert Endnote" button.
